Dave Sullivan, the founder of Snowball Sports, died on Sunday in a ski accident in northern California.
He was 57.
He also had a wife and two children.
The Associated Press was first to report the news.
Sullivan had a passion for snowboarding and skiing and was a longtime friend and fellow skier.
The Snowball family is devastated by Dave’s passing.
His wife, Christine, is the co-founder of the ski company, and he coached and mentored young skiers.
“He was a wonderful man,” his daughter Christine said in a statement.
“A truly caring father, a beloved grandfather, and a great friend.
He will be missed.”
Sullivan died on the slopes of Santa Barbara County, where the mountain is located.
A memorial service will be held on Monday at the Santa Barbara Ski Resort in Santa Barbara.
