Humans vs. Animals is the first TV series in the franchise to use CGI in its live action scenes.
It will also be the first series in which a non-human animal is featured as the main protagonist.
The series, which is currently being produced by a consortium of producers including Netflix, Lionsgate and Fox, will debut in 2020.
In an interview with Variety, the show’s co-creator and executive producer, Michael DeLuca, explained why humans and animals are such different species.
“The reason we have animals is because humans are very good at doing things,” he said.
“Animals are good at making things.
The reason we don’t have them is because of how our brains are designed.”
This isn’t the first time that CGI has been used in an animal series.
The 2014 Disney Pixar film Finding Nemo featured the Tyrannosaurus rex, which had a large eye and could see into the future.
